About BERTHOLLET NYC
Where Your Vision Meets Precision
At BERTHOLLET NYC, we specialize in patternmaking, sample development, technical design, and tech packs for fashion brands and independent designers. Our mission is to transform creative ideas into production-ready garments with precision, care, and a genuine commitment to each client’s success.
Our Story
Founded by Emily Berthollet, BERTHOLLET NYC was built on a passion for craftsmanship, technical excellence, and supporting designers at every stage of their journey.
Emily’s love for fashion began early, learning to sew from her grandmother. At just 14, she created her first pattern, sparking a fascination with garment construction and the balance between creativity and structure. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising and studied abroad in Paris, where she immersed herself in the artistry and precision of French fashion.
After graduating, Emily moved to New York City with nothing but determination and a dream. Over the past six years, she has refined her craft in patternmaking, sample development, and technical design, working with brands of all sizes to bring their collections to life. While she loves design, her true passion lies in patternmaking, the technical foundation that ensures every garment fits beautifully and functions flawlessly.
What We Do
BERTHOLLET NYC partners with designers and brands to deliver:
Patternmaking: Production-ready patterns with exceptional fit and construction
Sample Development: Quality samples for fittings and presentations
Technical Design: Expert guidance and detailed specifications for manufacturers
Tech Packs: Clear, professional documentation to streamline production
Whether you’re developing your first collection or refining your brand’s fit, our goal is to make the process seamless, efficient, and empowering so you can focus on creativity while we handle the technical side.
Our Studio
In 2025, BERTHOLLET NYC opened its own studio in New York City’s Garment District, marking a new chapter of growth and dedication to quality. Our studio allows for a more hands-on, personalized experience, welcoming designers into a space devoted entirely to bringing their ideas to life.
Our Philosophy
For Emily, patternmaking is more than a profession. It’s a craft built on problem-solving, precision, and passion. She approaches every project with care, ensuring that each client feels supported and equipped for success.
At BERTHOLLET NYC, we don’t just create patterns; we build long-term partnerships that help brands grow, evolve, and thrive.
